5 Good Reasons to Quit Your Current Job and Find a New Job

The 2 words “I quit” are again and again impending your mind and you are still wondering if it would be appropriate to quit your job at this time. If the thoughts have already started pondering your mind, then it is the right time for you to evaluate and see why you are feeling so miserable. I insist on re-reviewing your thoughts simply because I firmly believe that before you quit your job you should be very sure about it. As we all know the market is really fickle and taking the right decision at the right time is most fundamental. As a professional we face situations which are out of our control and we cannot really do anything apart from quitting. Here I have listed down 5 good reasons to quit your job and find a new one:

1-      Relationship with the Manager: The saying “people leave managers not companies” is absolutely correct. Maximum of the people leave job because they do not like the working style of their manager. These differences sometimes grows to a level that it could not be repaired even if both the parties try hard. So in such a situation it is best to try for sometime, but if the situation doesn’t seem to improve the best thing is to quit.

2-       Low Salary & Perks: Now you have started getting the feeling that your salary is not enough to support you and your family needs. It could be possible that your life circumstances have changed and now you have a family to support. Probably you got married, or parents moving in with you or may be you had a baby. If this is the situation and you feel that you are unable to meet all your needs with your current salary, then it would be better to look for better opportunity which pays you higher perks and salary. We all need to grow and support after all.

3-      You Don’t Enjoy Your Work: Yes! It is perfectly alright to feel that you don’t enjoy work and this should be a good enough reason for you to quit the job and look for a new one. Reason being if an employee loves his job then he would be 100% productive and would do 0% procrastination and if he doesn’t like what he does than the situation is vice versa. So better not waste your talent and look for a new opportunity where you can feel more productive and satisfied.

4-      You are a Looser at work: This negative statement is something we all hate to hear. But at times due to whatever reasons you have missed too many days at work or did not complete the given task on time consistently and you have gained the tag of a “Looser” at work. If this is the case, then believe me it would be very difficult to take of that label from you. So it would be better to look for another job, before the situation becomes worse at the current work place.

5-      Company is financially melting Down: We as professionals have to think about our own career and job security first, before the company we are working for. If you are hearing rumors of company bankruptcy or learning about company losing money and customers along with that if you notice the company is heavily laying off. Then this is the right time for you to find a new job for yourself.

Quitting the current job and getting a new one in itself is a very hectic and tedious task. But at times the circumstances become so and we have to move on. Always remember whatever happens, happens for good and you should make sure that you move on to the next level with a positive attitude.
